Design Inspiration

Inspired by contemporary Pacific Northwest design, this outdoor renovation emphasizes clean lines, open space, and durable natural finishes. The palette blends earthy brown decking with matte black steel posts and modern cable railings, creating visual contrast that grounds the deck into the natural rock landscape.

Materials and Features

Durability and low maintenance were central to this design. The deck boards are made of premium composite material, resistant to weathering and rot—perfect for Seattle’s rainy climate. Modern cable railing provides unobstructed views of the surroundings while enhancing safety. Black powder-coated steel posts offer industrial elegance, complementing the structure’s geometric simplicity.

Functional Improvements

The updated staircase was re-engineered for safety and code compliance, with broader treads and a more stable rise. The deck now offers a seamless flow from the home’s entry to the outdoor space, making it ideal for entertaining, relaxing, or enjoying the natural slope of the property.

Lighting and Atmosphere
